Madison Central reports positive COVID-19 case in Elementary School

Another positive COVID-19 case has been reported this week in the Madison Central School District.  School officials reported Tuesday that a student or staff member at Madison Elementary School had tested positive for COVID-19. Superintendent Joel Jorgenson said that there are no close contacts within the school with this case.  The school district has had a total of seven positive cases reported since the start of the school year.   All Madison Central Schools remain at a Level One status.  

In Lake County on Tuesday, the state Department of Health reported 39 active COVID-19 cases.  There were more than 76-hundred active cases reported statewide, and 236 people are currently hospitalized with the virus. Also as of Tuesday, three more COVID-19 deaths were reported, bringing the state’s total since the start of the pandemic to 2108.
