Madison Central reports positive COVID-19 case at MHS
The Madison Central School District reported one more positive COVID-19 case on Thursday, the last day of classes for students in the district. Superintendent Joel Jorgenson said that a student or staff member at Madison High School had tested positive for COVID-19. He said that any close contacts to the positive case will be notified by the district.Â
As of Wednesday, the district reported four active cases within Madison High School students, with 94 recovered cases among all students. There were no active staff cases, and 42 recovered cases since the start of the school year.Â
Jorgenson on Thursday thanked parents and guardians for their cooperation and partnership with the school district in working their way through a school year with many unknowns. He said the staff at Madison Central went above and beyond in adapting to the many changes and limitations that were put in place for everyone’s safety this school year. Jorgenson also praised the students’ resilience in working their way through the challenges of the past year. Â
