Madison Aquatics Center suffers mechanical issue
Mechanical issues at the Madison Aquatics Center may possibly delay its opening for this summer. Mayor Marshall Dennert announced at Monday’s city commission meeting that there was an issue with an exhaust fan that caused other damage at the facility.
Dennert said that engineers are looking it over in order to let the city know what needs to be done to get the pool up and running.
Commissioner Adam Shaw asked residents to be patient while the city works to get it fixed.
Earlier in their meeting Monday, commissioners approved a Memorandum of Agreement for Laurie Bunker to serve as the Aquatics Coordinator effective March 14th. The agreement is until December 18th or until a new Aquatics Coordinator is hired, whichever comes first. Bunker is the Assistant Director of the Madison Community Center.
