Madison Aquatic Center to Open at the End of this Month

With summer right around the corner, the Madison Aquatic Center is preparing to open at the end of this month.

During last night’s Madison Board of Commissioners meeting, City Administrator Jameson Berreth mentioned some of the differences between where the aquatic center stands now compared to this time a year ago.

The aquatic center will be open each day during the summer from 1pm-6pm, but Thursday-Saturday night will have additional hours. Thursday nights will be “Family Night” from 6:30pm-8pm, with the focus being on families with young kids. Meanwhile Friday and Saturday nights will be open to the general public from 7pm-9pm.

The addition of “Family Night” is new to the aquatic center this year, and Berreth discussed the reasoning behind the additional night.

There were 28 Lifeguards along with three Lead Lifeguards, two managers, and eight cashiers all hired for this season.

Rates for the aquatic center will start at $100 for individuals that are not Community Center members, while individuals that are members of the Community Center will pay $80. Families up to five members start at $150 for Non-Community Center members and $125 for families with a Community Center member.

Daily Passes will cost $6 each.

The Madison Aquatic Center will be open this season from Thursday, May 27th-Saturday, August 19th.
