The Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant in DeSmet is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with a full slate of activities in addition to the annual pageant performance. Those activities include authors, artists, actors, lectures and a performance by the indigenous group Brule’.

The pageant started this past weekend and will also be held the next two weekend at the pageant grounds one mile east of DeSmet. All activities are at the pageant grounds or the DeSmet Event Center.

Next weekend features a full concert by the indigenous rock band Brule’ at the event center in DeSmet.  

The weekend of July 23rd through the 25th will include actors Dean Butler and Alison Arngrim on Friday, July 23rd. Butler played Almanzo and Arngrim played Nellie Olson on the TV show “Little House on the Prairie.”  Autographs are available at 11 a.m. the 23rd at the event center. Autographs will also be available on Saturday the 24th.
