Lake County’s number of positive COVID-19 cases increased by three Friday.  The state Department of Health reports a total of 26 positive cases in Lake County, with 20 of them reported as recovered and one death, setting the number of active cases in the county currently at five.  There have been 707 negative tests in the county.

Statewide, a total of 65 new positive COVID-19 cases have been reported Friday, and six more people have died from the virus.  Friday’s reported deaths are residents of Pennington, Hughes, and Minnehaha counties.  

The overall total of positive COVID-19 cases in the state is now just more than 74-hundred. Of those, 886 are reported as active cases and 65 people are currently hospitalized. 

Other area counties’ active cases as of Friday include four each in McCook and Miner counties, and three in Moody county.  Brookings County currently has nineteen active COVID-19 cases.
