Statewide, new positive COVID-19 cases increased by close to 200 over the weekend. Of those, nine of the new positive cases were reported in Lake County. As of Sunday, Lake County reported 66 total positive cases, with 46 of them recovered and two deaths. This puts the number of active cases currently in Lake County at 18. There have been 839 negative tests in the county.
The state’s overall total number of positive cases is close to 84-hundred. Currently, 908 of those cases are active and 48 people are hospitalized. One more COVID-19 related death – a Todd County resident – was reported also over the weekend, putting the state’s total number of deaths from the virus at 123.
Positive active cases in area counties include eight in Brookings, four in McCook County, and two each in Kingsbury and Miner counties.
