Lake County’s new positive COVID-19 cases increase by four Friday; state reports one additional death

Lake County is reporting an additional four new positive COVID-19 cases Friday.  The state Department of Health reports Lake County at 47 total cases, with 26 of them recovered and one death, keeping the number of active cases now at 20.  Lake County is listed as having substantial community spread, with three people who have ever been hospitalized, and there have been 762 negative tests.

One more South Dakota resident has died from the virus.  The state reports Friday’s death is a resident of Beadle County.  The state has had 116 COVID-19 deaths.  

Overall, the state reports 95 new positive COVID-19 cases Friday, putting the state’s total at 7789.  865 of the cases are active, and 61 people are currently hospitalized.  

In our area, McCook County is reporting two new positive coronavirus cases Friday and now has six active cases.  Moody County currently has four active and Kingsbury has two active cases.  Brookings County has seventeen active COVID-19 cases as of Friday.
