Lake County to increase security measures at public access area

Lake County is going to add some security measures to the county’s public access area on Lake Madison.  County Buildings and Grounds Superintendent Dave Hare told Lake County Commissioners on Tuesday that there have been issues with garbage dumping at the Scott Pedersen Memorial Park and because of that he’d like to increase security there.

Hare said that there is a dumpster at the park, but estimates that about 90-percent of the garbage in it comes from outside of the park.  Other than that, he said that the majority of people are using the area the way it is intended.

Commissioners approved Hare’s request to use money from the county’s recreation budget to improve the security measures at the park.
