Lake County Sheriff’s Office involved in pursuit and arrest

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a pursuit Thursday night that later resulted in the arrest of the individual involved on Friday morning.

Sheriff Tim Walburg said that just before 11:00 Thursday night, the Sheriff’s Office was advised of a pursuit that originated in Miner County and was headed east into Lake County.  The Lake County Sheriff’s Office was able to spike the tires of the vehicle being chased by the Miner County Sheriff’s Office.  The driver then pulled over and took off running after three of the four tires on the vehicle went flat.  Walburg said law enforcement searched for him during the evening and were not able to locate him.  He said they learned that the man was involved in an assault in Mitchell earlier and took off in a car that he didn’t own.

Lake County 911 then received a call at 7:45 Friday morning of a male sitting in someone’s pick-up in an unattached garage.  Law enforcement arrived and took the man into custody.  The man is the same individual involved in the pursuit from Miner County.  Charges are pending out of Miner County for crimes related to the chase.Â
