The state reported one of its largest increases of positive COVID-19 cases on Thursday with 36, raising the state’s total to 165.  One of those positive cases is in Lake County, the first one now in the county. The State Department of Health will not release the age range or sex of the Lake County individual who has tested positive, but State Epidemiologist Dr. Joshua Clayton said that it is not considered community spread.

Positive cases of COVID-19 are now being reported in 31 South Dakota counties.  

The state is reporting two deaths from COVID-19, and that a total of 17 people have been hospitalized with the virus.  

Minnehaha County has the highest number of positive cases with 54 now, followed by Beadle County with 21, Lincoln County with 17, and Yankton County with ten.

So far, the state is reporting that 57 people have recovered from COVID-19.
