A 19-year-old Lake County man has been arrested in connection with an accident that seriously injured a Lake County female.  Lake County Sheriff Tim Walburg said that emergency personnel responded around midnight Sunday morning to a report of an injury accident involving a pickup and a pedestrian near 459th Avenue and 239th Street.  Walburg said that during the investigation, deputies learned that several people were at an abandoned farm place celebrating a high school graduation and consuming alcohol.  He said that the vehicle involved in the accident was driven by 19-year-old Casey Renaas of rural Nunda.  Walburg said that Renaas arrived at the celebration and struck a pedestrian, then left the scene after being told that he ran over somebody.  Renaas was driving a 2013 Ford pickup and was later located and arrested for Hit and Run causing bodily injury, Underage Consumption, and Zero Tolerance DUI.  The victim was an 18-year-old female of rural Madison, whose name is not being released at this time.  Walburg said she was taken by ambulance to Madison Regional Health and later airlifted to Avera McKennan Hospital for serious injuries from the incident.

The incident remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Â
