Lake County looking to fill vacancy on Planning Commission

Lake County will be looking for someone to fill a vacancy on the county’s Planning Commission.  Lake County Commissioners on Tuesday accepted the resignation of Dale Thompson from the Planning Commission.  Thompson’s term ends at the end of the year, but Zoning Officer Mandi Anderson said his resignation is effective immediately.  County commissioners have decided to open up the vacancy to any interested applicants.  The applications will be handled by the Planning Commission for recommendation for the appointment.

Lake County Commissioners also took action on a few personnel items during their meeting Tuesday.  Commissioners approved the hiring of a new 911 Dispatcher-Trainee.  Abigail Williams will start in the full-time position today at an hourly rate of $15.85.  Williams’ hiring is contingent upon her pre-employment screening being satisfactorily completed.

Commissioners Tuesday acknowledged the resignation of a part-time temporary employee.  They accepted the resignation of Blake Neu as a part-time temporary inventory specialist with the County Highway Department.

The county commission met in executive session also yesterday to discuss personnel.  After that, commissioners approved an unpaid leave of absence for an employee, with continued benefits.  The leave of absence was approved for November 1st through December 31st of this year.
