Lake County hires new Highway Superintendent

Lake County will soon have a new Highway Superintendent.  The Lake County Commission on Tuesday appointed Nels Nelson to the position, effective October 28th.  Nelson’s wage for the Highway Superintendent position will be $27.25 per hour, with no cost of living increase in 2020.  The commission’s action states that Nelson’s appointment is also contingent upon a background check and pre-employment screening.

Commissioners conducted interviews for the Highway Superintendent position in executive session during their regular meeting on Tuesday.  

The commission had been conducting a search for a new Highway Superintendent for the county after terminating Dave Fedeler from the position in August.
