The City of Madison & Lake County will be holding a Flood Risk Public Open House on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the City Armory.

New preliminary flood maps, known as Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), have been

released for Lake County. The new digital maps use updated data and science to show the extent to which the areas throughout Lake County are at risk for flooding, which may

affect floodplain development requirements and/or flood insurance rates.

This meeting is an opportunity for Madison and Lake County residents and stakeholders to ask questions of FEMA regarding the new preliminary flood risk maps and learn about the community’s role in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
