Lake County creates ARPA Nonprofit Grant Program

Lake County will be accepting grant applications from local non-profit organizations to utilize some of the funding the county is receiving through the American Rescue Plan Act.

The Lake County Commission recently discussed its funding options regarding the ARPA money, which is intended to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, including public health and economic impacts.  Lake County is projected to receive a total of more than two-point-four-million dollars over two years to respond to the public health emergency and its economic impacts.

At its October 19th meeting, the commission invited county departments to submit proposals for eligible uses for the ARPA funding consideration.  Commissioners then also approved opening up applications for the funding to be made available as grants to non-profits for eligible uses.  Eligible uses for non-profits include those that support the public health response to COVID-19 and address negative economic impacts.

The county’s ARPA non-profit grant program is designed to support organizations, programs, and activities that benefit Lake County residents.  Applications need to be submitted by December 31st.  More information and the application for grant funding can be found on the county’s website.

Applications may be submitted electronically or by hard copy by 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2021. Staff is available to answer questions about the application requirements, eligible
activities, or the funding process. Please contact Shelli Gust at 605-256-7630 or [email protected] with questions.
