Lake County Commission honors Hageman during year-end meeting

The Lake County Commission met on Wednesday to take care of a few of the county’s final business items for 2020.

Wednesday marked the last meeting for Commissioner Roger Hageman.  Commission Chair Kelli Wollmann recognized Hageman for his twelve years of service on the commission.

Wednesday also marked the first meeting of the commission utilizing Zoom technology as a means for commissioners or others to take part in meetings remotely.

During their meeting, commissioners approved a resolution transferring money from the county’s contingency fund to help cover several departments’ budget shortfalls for 2020.  A total of 175-thousand dollars was to be transferred.  Some of the department budgets needing the highest amounts transferred included the Judicial’s Court Appointed Attorney budget for 54-thousand dollars, the Sheriff’s Department for close to 43-thousand dollars, and the county Jail’s budget for 28-thousand-500 dollars.

The commission also approved a resolution authorizing an operating transfer of just more than 89-thousand dollars cash from the county’s General Fund to it’s Building Fund, along with several other budget-related items.

The county commission’s first meeting of 2021 will be on Tuesday, January 5th, with elected officials taking their Oaths of Office in the Lake County Courtroom starting at 8:30 a.m.
