Lake County Commission holding its regular meeting Thursday

The Lake County Commission is holding its regular meeting on Thursday this week because of the Primary Election on Tuesday.

On the agenda for county commissioners is Buildings and Grounds Superintendent Dave Hare to discuss a geothermal system, and Highway Superintendent Nels Nelson with a number of items for discussion.  Nelson is scheduled to discuss an agreement with Lehtola Builders, Incorporated for a construction contract for a box culvert project, fuel agreements with the City of Madison and Valiant Living, and equipment.

A public hearing is scheduled for 10:00 Thursday morning for the second reading of an ordinance for rezoning.  Commissioners will also meet with Sheriff Tim Walburg regarding the Prairie Village security contract, personnel, and an Inmate Housing Contract with Brookings County, and they will canvass the votes from Tuesday’s primary election.  

An executive session to discuss personnel and also proposed or pending litigation or contractual matters will also be held during Thursday’s county commission meeting. 

The Lake County Commission meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. Thursday in the commission room in the Lake County Courthouse in Madison.
