Lake County Commission approves personnel items

The Lake County Commission approved several personnel items during its meeting Tuesday.  Commissioners approved the hiring of a Heavy Equipment Operator for the county Highway Department.  Jonathan Rasmussen will start full-time in the position on August 31st at a rate of $18.25 an hour.  Rasmussen’s hiring is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and pre-employment screening. 

Commissioners Tuesday also approved the hiring of Troy Fox as a Correctional Officer for the Sheriff’s Office and Jail.  Fox started in the position full time on August 11th at a rate of $16.25 an hour.  Commissioners also approved the resignation of Correctional Officer Austin Kurkowski, effective August 16th. 

Also during Tuesday’s meeting, commissioners acknowledged the retirement of Auditor Bobbi Janke.  Janke is retiring from the position after 33 years working for Lake County.  An open house for Janke will be held on Friday afternoon from 2:00 until 3:30 at the Lake County Courthouse first floor Election room.
