The Lake County Commission took action on several personnel items during its meeting on Tuesday.

Commissioners approved the hiring of Ashley Milbrandt as the new Victim/Witness Assistant for the county’s State’s Attorney’s Office.  This is a part-time position with no benefits. Commissioners approved Milbrandt’s hiring at a rate of 18-dollars an hour, effective March 2nd.

The commission Tuesday also approved increasing the hours for Veterans Service Officer Courtney VanZanten.  Commission Administrative Officer Shelli Gust said that by increasing VanZanten’s hours from 16 to 17 per week, the county will be eligible to receive reimbursement for a portion of her salary.  Commissioners approved the increase effective January 27th.

Another personnel item approved by county commissioners Tuesday included the resignation of Duane Winberg as a Deputy Coroner for the county.  Winberg’s resignation is effective January 28th.

The commission also held an executive session to discuss personnel at the end of Tuesday’s meeting.  After the executive session, commissioners acknowledged the termination of Lisa Lee as a correctional officer, effective January 24th.

In other business on Tuesday, Lake County Commissioners approved the auctioning of six of the county’s tax deed properties.  One property, located in Junius, will be sold by the county at public auction during the commission’s meeting on February 18th.  The other five properties will be sold at public auction during the commission’s meeting on March 3rd.
