Lake County Commission Working to Promote Economic Development

The Lake County commission held its regular meeting on Tuesday at the commission room in the county courthouse. Commissioners heard from Todd Kays, the Executive Director of the First District Association of Rural Governments. The First District is one of six regional districts serving rural governments across the state, and working to promote economic development. 

Kays said he’s been working with the county on updating zoning regulations.

Also Tuesday, commissioners acknowledged the receipt of a ten-thousand dollar staffing grant that the Sheriff’s office received, from the Attorney General’s 24/7 Sobriety Program fund. 

In other news from the County…the Lake County Highway Department has announced they will be closing off CR-29 (229 Street) from CR-51 (446 Ave) to the west to 444 Ave on Friday March 10th due to the snow and wet conditions.
