LAIC Executive Director provides update to Lake County Commission

Lake Area Improvement Corporation Executive Director Brooke Rollag presented her quarterly update to Lake County Commissioners during their meeting on Tuesday.  Rollag told commissioners that daycare continues to be a top initiative for her office.

Rollag said that housing is another area the LAIC is focused on, and said there is another development in the works for Madison.

Rollag said the Trojan Village development will be located just north of Dakota State University’s Athletics Complex.

Also on Tuesday, Rollag talked about the LAIC’s plans for the former Runnings property in Madison.  She said that Runnings is planning to donate the property to the LAIC, who is then planning to convert it into a public recreation facility.

Rollag said that they are working with community leaders and businesses on the different areas involved with making this project happen, including demolition of some of the buildings, renovation of the former Runnings building, and acquiring the equipment needed for the facility.
