LAIC ask for City’s help in Applying for a 2 million dollar Childcare Grant

The Lake Area Improvement Corporation (LAIC) has reached an important milestone in their process to potentially achieve up to a 2 million dollar grant for an early development and childcare facility in Madison. After receiving the results of the survey LAIC has determined that they are eligible to apply for the grant. Executive Director of LAIC, Brooke Rollag.

Rollag says they need help from the city to apply for the grant.

The commission agreed to help the LAIC with the application for the Community Development Block Grant as well as enter a partnership with the LAIC to accept the grant if the application is approved.

The grant would  help defray the cost to build a 14,000 square foot  childcare facility in Madison with a capacity to accommodate up to 140 children.
