Lake County State’s Attorney Wendy Kloeppner is seeking re-election to her position. Kloeppner, a Republican, filed her nominating petitions for the State’s Attorney’s position with the Lake County Auditor’s Office on Monday.  

Lake County Coroner Mark Rustand, a Republican, has also filed nominating petitions for re-election as county coroner, and County Commissioners Roger Hageman and Deb Reinicke, both Republicans, have filed for re-election to the county commission.  Democrat John Doblar has also filed nominating petitions for the county commission election. There are three county commission seats up for election this year. The Lake County Treasurer position is also up for election this year.

Lake County Commissioners, along with the County Coroner, Treasurer, and State’s Attorney, all serve four-year terms.  

All three current state lawmakers for District 8 are running for re-election to their positions.  Marli Wiese of Madison and Randy Gross of Elkton have both filed petitions for re-election to the state House of Representatives for District 8, while Jordan Youngberg of Brant Lake has filed for re-election to his seat in the state Senate.    

 All seats in the state Senate and House are up for election this year.  

The deadline to file nominating petitions for the June primary election is March 31st.  

Petitions for the county office elections must be filed with the county Auditor’s Office, while those for state elections must be filed with the Secretary of State’s Office.
