Keeping information safe on social media sites

The Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Protection is urging people to check their privacy settings on social media sites.

Director Jody Gillaspie says it’s an important issue.

Gillaspie says her office worked with Dakota State University in Madison to develop step by step instructions.

Gillaspie warns if someone signs up for a social media site such as Facebook and fails to activate security settings, anyone has access to their information, especially scammers.

A link to the instructions on checking privacy settings on social media can be found here.
