IAUW recognizes outstanding supporters during annual meeting

The Interlakes Area United Way held its annual meeting virtually this week.

In 2020, the Interlakes Area United Way was able to provide close to 118-thousand dollars in funding to 37 different agencies and organizations.  The number of agencies requesting funding through the United Way was down in 2021, with 27 agencies receiving close to 108-thousand dollars in funding.  Board Vice President Danielle Kearin said that they received fewer funding requests this year.

Also during the Interlakes Area United Way’s annual meeting, they recognized three recipients of the organization’s Outstanding Supporter award.  Recipients for 2020 include Cam Shafer of Sporty’s Bar & Grill, Travis Davidson, and Phyllis & Dave Westbrock.

Board President Lori Gustaf said that Cam Shafer was honored for his contributions as a local business owner.  She said that Travis Davidson, who is a maintenance specialist for FirstLine Funding Group and First Bank & Trust, was recognized for his contributions as a volunteer.

Gustaf said that Phyllis Westbrock and her late husband, Dave, were honored for their dedicated support of the Interlakes Area United Way.  The couple are longtime donors and have served as volunteers and board members, including executive roles.
