Howard woman sentenced on drug charge

A Howard woman was sentenced this week on a felony charge of ingesting methamphetamine.

Lake County Circuit Court Judge Pat Pardy sentenced 28-year-old Cassandra Adams to serve five years in the state penitentiary.  The judge suspended the penitentiary time based on several conditions, one of which includes that Adams serve 30 days in the county jail with credit for two days already served.  She also must be on probation for six years.  Judge Pardy also ordered Adams to pay more than 900-dollars in fine, court costs and restitution, and to re-pay Lake County for the cost of her court-appointed attorney’s fees, among several other conditions of her suspended sentence.
