Howard man arrested after Madison incident

A Howard man is in the Lake County Jail after an incident in Madison on Tuesday.  Madison Police officers were dispatched to a business in the 100-block of North Egan Avenue Tuesday afternoon for a report of someone threatening people with a knife.  The man left the business prior to officers’ arrival and was located at the intersection of Egan Avenue and Center Street.  Police Chief Justin Meyer said that officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the man’s vehicle, but he failed to yield and a pursuit ensued.  Officers apprehended 60-year-old Brian Quinlan of Howard near his residence in Howard, with the assistance of the Miner County Sheriff’s Office and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.  Quinlan faces charges of Aggravated Assault, Reckless Driving, and other traffic violations.  He is currently being held in the Lake County Jail on a five-thousand dollar cash only bond.
