Hernandez pleads not guilty to Aggravated Assault charges
A trial date has been set for the Madison man who pointed a gun at law enforcement officers during an incident near the Classic Corner convenience store last month. Â
34-year-old Benjamin Hernandez of Madison appeared in Lake County Magistrate Court Wednesday on four felony counts of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer. Hernandez pled not guilty to the charges and Judge David Gienapp scheduled his trial for March of 2021. Â
Hernandez is being held in the Lake County Jail on 50-thousand dollars cash bond. Â
Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer is a Class Two Felony, which carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in the state penitentiary and a fine of 50-thousand dollars.Â
