Haugaard to run against Governor Noem in 2022 Republican primary

A state representative from Sioux Falls announced this week that he will run against incumbent Governor Kristi Noem for the republican nomination in next year’s governor’s race.  Steven Haugaard said he will challenge Noem in the June primary election.

Haugaard, in his announcement, said that it is about rights and liberty.

Haugaard said in a Republican primary, issues matter more than money.

Haugaard will finish his fourth term in the House, and was also Speaker for one term.

Noem announced her re-election plans last week.
