A second Republican candidate has filed nominating petitions for the Lake County Commission election.  Roger Hageman filed his petitions for re-election to his seat on the commission with the Lake County Auditor’s Office on Thursday.

Hageman and Deb Reinicke are the two Republican candidates who have filed nominating petitions so far in the county commission race.  John Doblar, a Democrat, also filed petitions this week to be on the ballot for the county commission election. There are three county commission seats up for election this year.  County commissioners serve four-year terms.

One other county office has had someone file nominating petitions so far.  Lake County Coroner Mark Rustand, a Republican, has filed his petitions for re-election to his position.  The other county offices up for election this year are State’s Attorney and Treasurer. The County Coroner, State’s Attorney, and Treasurer all also serve four-year terms.

All three current state lawmakers for District 8 have filed their nominating petitions for re-election to their positions.  Marli Wiese of Madison and Randy Gross of Elkton have both filed petitions for re-election to the state House of Representatives for District 8, while Jordan Youngberg of Brant Lake has filed for re-election to his seat in the state Senate.

All seats in the state Senate and House are up for election this year.

The deadline to file nominating petitions for the June primary election is March 31st.

Petitions for the county office elections must be filed with the county Auditor’s Office, while those for state elections must be filed with the Secretary of State’s Office.
