The Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting in conjunction with an Awards Night held Tuesday at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse in Madison. During the meeting, Chamber Executive Director Eric Hortness outlined some of the highlights for the Chamber for the last year. He said that the Chamber added 33 new investors and renovated its community room at the Madison Depot. Hortness also explained several of the new events that the Chamber has sponsored, like Ag Link, Member of the Month, and Second Saturdays. Going forward, Hortness said that they will again be hosting a Craft Fair at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse on Saturday, November 26th, and will hold their Mad Money Holiday Promotion.
Also coming up on Saturday, December 3rd are the events as part of Madison’s Magical Christmas.
Hortness said that there is now a tree planted for the community’s Christmas tree instead of having one donated and moved in.
As part of Tuesday’s Awards Night, the Chamber honored educators, as well as several awards honoring local businesses and employees.
