GMACC cancels remaining 2020 events

The Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that it is canceling Chamber events through the end of the year.  Due to the current situation with COVID-19 and following CDC guidelines, the Chamber staff and Board of Directors decided to cancel the remainder of it’s events through the end of 2020.  This includes the 2020 Chamber Educator’s Reception, Golf Classic, Downtown Trick or Treat, Show and Sell, and several events involved with the 2020 Madison’s Magical Christmas.

Chamber Executive Director Eric Hortness said that cancelling the events was a difficult decision, but he said their board and staff felt it was the correct decision given all the circumstances.  He said that keeping the community and the event volunteers safe and healthy is the most important thing.

Chamber Board President Dan Buresh said that the Chamber will continue to see what events and promotions they can offer in the future that will still have a positive impact on the community while keeping citizens safe. Â
