The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Lake County increased by five Friday.  The state Department of Health reports Lake County now with 31 active COVID-19 cases.  There are 188 total positive cases in the county, with 150 of them recovered and seven total deaths. 

Statewide, positive COVID-19 cases increased by 457 Friday.  There were also six more virus-related deaths, putting the state’s total now at 216.  With the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state now at more than 20-thousand-500, the state is reporting that more than 35-hundred of them are active at this time and 194 people are currently hospitalized. 

In our area, Brookings County reports 127 active cases Friday, Moody County has 21, and McCook County has 18 active cases.  There are 14 active COVID-19 cases in Kingsbury County, and one in Miner County.
