Friday COVID-19 update: Another COVID-19 death reported in Lake County

Two more COVID-19 related deaths were reported by the state Department of Health Friday, including another in Lake County.  With Friday’s reported death, that puts the total number of virus-related deaths in Lake County at six.  The county reported no new positive COVID-19 cases Friday, and remains at four active cases at this time. There have been nearly one-thousand negatives tests in Lake County.

Statewide, another 193 new positive COVID-19 cases are being reported Friday.  The state’s total number of positive cases is now at 10-thousand-884.  Of those, there are currently 1376 active cases, and 50 people are hospitalized.  There have been 159 COVID-19 deaths reported in the state. 

The number of active COVID-19 cases in area counties as of Friday include 25 in Brookings County, seven in McCook, four in Moody County, and three in Kingsbury County.
