Friday COVID-19 update: Active cases decrease statewide; five new positive cases in Lake County

The state Department of Health reported just less than two-hundred new positive COVID-19 cases on Friday.  No new deaths were reported, and active cases decreased some to just more than 24-hundred.  103 people were hospitalized as of Friday because of the virus.

Lake County reported more recovered cases Friday, with 19 recovered and five new positive COVID-19 cases.  Active cases in Lake County were at 39 yesterday.

In our area, Kingsbury County had 64 active COVID-19 cases, McCook County reported 25, and Miner County had 11.  Brookings County reported 146 active cases, and Moody County had four.

The state Department of Health reported Friday also that 45-percent of the state’s population had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 30-percent had completed their vaccination series.
