The state Department of Health reported more than 300 new positive COVID-19 cases in the state on Friday.  The number of active cases and number of people hospitalized both increased.  Active COVID-19 cases were reported at more than 22-hundred Friday and there were 68 people hospitalized because of the virus. 

Lake County reported one new positive coronavirus case and two recovered cases Friday for a total of 49 active COVID-19 cases.  

McCook County’s number of active cases increased to 23, and Miner and Kingsbury counties each had fifteen as of Friday.  Moody County reported four active COVID-19 cases and Brookings County had 93.

The state Department of Health Friday also reported that 35-percent of the state’s population had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 22-percent had completed their vaccination series. Â
