Friday COVID-19 update: 3 deaths in state

Another three COVID-19 deaths are being reported by the state Department of Health Friday.  There have been a total of 1952 COVID-19 deaths statewide since the start of the pandemic.

Close to 250 new positive COVID-19 cases are also being reported Friday, with the number of active cases and those hospitalized decreasing. The number of variant cases of COVID-19 in the state increased Friday to 65.

No new positive coronavirus cases are being reported in Lake County Friday, with four recovered cases.  Lake County now has 28 active COVID-19 cases. 

The highest number of active COVID-19 cases in our area is in Brookings County, where 184 cases are being reported Friday, and Kingsbury County has 49 active cases.
