The state set another record in the number of COVID-19 deaths reported in one day Friday.  The state Department of Health reports 28 virus-related deaths Friday, bringing the state’s overall total to 510.  Close to 15-hundred new positive COVID-19 cases are being reported in the state Friday as well. The state’s number of active cases rose to 14-thousand-426 and 493 people are currently hospitalized. 

Lake County reports another seventeen new positive COVID-19 cases Friday, with six recovered cases.  Overall, the county has had 507 positive cases, 346 recovered, and nine deaths.  This puts the number of active cases in Lake County now at 152, and 23 residents have ever been hospitalized because of the virus. 

Active cases increased also Friday in our area counties.  McCook County now reports 128 active COVID-19 cases, Kingsbury County has 99, and Moody County has 84 active cases.  Miner County currently has 41 active COVID-19 cases, and Brookings County has 366.  One of the deaths reported in the state Friday is a Brookings County resident.
