The state Department of Health reports another 14 COVID-19 deaths in the state Friday.  The total number of South Dakota COVID-19 deaths is now at 1556.  The state reports 448 new positive virus cases Friday.  The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state has decreased to 5241 and 247 people are currently hospitalized.

Lake County reports five new positive COVID-19 cases Friday, along with 17 recovered cases.  This brings the county’s number of active cases down to 60, and 45 Lake County residents have ever been hospitalized because of the virus.

Other area counties also saw a decrease in their number of active COVID-19 cases Friday.  McCook and Kingsbury counties now have 30 active cases, while Moody County has 26 and Miner County reports 21.  Brookings County reports 252 active COVID-19 cases as of Friday.
