Another COVID-19 death was reported in the state on Friday.  The total number of virus-related deaths in the state is now at 1957.  The state Department of Health reported just less than 200 new positive COVID-19 cases, with the number of active cases staying relatively steady at close to two-thousand.  The number of people hospitalized because of the virus increased Friday to 116.

Lake County reported one new positive and two recovered coronavirus cases. There are now 23 active cases in the county.  

Kingsbury County reported 28 active COVID-19 cases, Moody County had ten, McCook County-9, and Miner County reported two active cases.  Brookings County reported 147 active cases as of Friday.

54-percent of the state’s population eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine had received at least one dose as of Friday, while 42-percent were fully vaccinated.
