Four additional COVID-19 deaths reported in state Friday, recovery numbers increase

An additional four COVID-19 related deaths are being reported Friday by the state Department of Health.  All four deaths are Minnehaha County residents, putting that county’s total deaths at 16, and the state’s total at 21.  

There are 76 new positive cases reported in the state Friday, with 113 additional people who have recovered from the virus.  This puts the total number of active COVID-19 cases now in the state at 818 with 69 people currently hospitalized.  

In our area, there are a few counties with active cases yet Friday.  Lake County currently has one active case and has 132 negative tests.  Moody County has four active cases currently, and Brookings County has one active case.
