Four more people in South Dakota have died from COVID-19.  The state Department of Health reports the four additional deaths Wednesday, putting the state’s total at 54.  

The deaths include one individual each from Brown and Todd counties, and two from Minnehaha county, and include the age ranges of 30’s, 50’s and 60’s.  

57 new positive COVID-19 cases have also been reported in the state, setting the state’s overall total number of positive cases at just more than 47-hundred.

As of Wednesday, the number of active cases in the state decreased to 1037, and there are currently 101 people hospitalized because of the coronavirus. 

In our area, Lake County continues to have one active case and as of Wednesday there have been 245 negative tests.  Moody County currently has three active COVID-19 cases and Brookings County has one.
