Fire destroyed a large shed on the south side of Lake Madison on Friday afternoon. Madison Fire Chief Randy Minnaert said that the shed was located at 6526 Evergreen Acres and was half engulfed when firefighters arrived on the scene just after 2:30 Friday afternoon. He said that all of the county’s fire departments responded to the fire, which produced black smoke that could be seen from miles away. Minnaert said that the Colman Fire Department also assisted in fighting the fire, and the Madison Ambulance was on scene. He said that firefighters were on scene until after 7:30 Friday night. Minnaert said that the shed contained a number of vehicles, boats, trailers, all-terrain vehicles, personal watercraft, and other items that were all lost in the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
