Fire destroyed a home northeast of Madison on Sunday morning.

Madison Fire Chief Randy Minnaert said a neighbor reported the fire at the residence on 226th Street just after 9:00 Sunday morning.  Minnaert said that all Lake County fire departments responded to the fire and that there were more than a dozen trucks on scene.  He said the fire started in the front porch area of the home, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.  Minnaert said the house is a total loss.  He said no one was home when the fire started.   Firefighters were on scene until around 1:30 Sunday afternoon.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family.
