Multiple rounds of disasters have kept the Federal Emergency Management Agency active in the state for many months.  Governor Kristi Noem recently requested yet another federal disaster declaration this week for damage done in storms and flooding in September.

FEMA spokesman Phil Wernisch says they have a long list of disaster assistance requests.

Wernisch says there is no set time for those local governments and agencies included within the federal disaster declaration areas to get payments.

Wernisch says they are also working on the latest round of disaster requests.

Wernisch says they have about 280 FEMA staffers currently working in the state.
