Fargo man sentenced on child pornography charges in Lake County

A Fargo, North Dakota man has been sentenced in Lake County for possessing child pornography.  20-year-old Nathaniel Roberts of Fargo was sentenced this week in Lake County Circuit Court on two felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography.  Roberts was indicted on the charges in May and pleaded guilty to two counts as part of a plea agreement in which several other counts were dismissed.

Circuit Judge Pat Pardy sentenced Roberts to serve six years in the state penitentiary on each count, with three-and-a-half years of each sentence suspended based on several conditions.  Some of those conditions include that Roberts pay a fine of 500-dollars plus court costs, reimburse the county for the cost of his court appointed attorney’s fees, and make restitution of more than 37-hundred dollars. Roberts must also complete sex offender treatment as recommended and register as a sex offender, along with other conditions of the suspended penitentiary time.

Judge Pardy ordered that Roberts’ sentences on the two counts be served concurrently, and he gave him credit for 101 days he’s already served.
