DSU’s College of Education receives grant for apprenticeship program

Dakota State University’s College of Education is one of four organizations receiving a grant from the South Dakota Department of Labor to develop apprenticeship programs for high school students. 

DSU College of Education Dean Dr. David DeJong said that the grant proposal was a collaborative effort.  

The award of $35,500 will help fund the online teacher apprenticeship program for high school students.

Dakota State was one of four organizations to receive the grants to develop apprenticeship programs for high school students. The Harrisburg School District and Bear Butte Gardens will house agriculture apprenticeships, and the Belle Fourche School District will house healthcare apprenticeships.
