DSU working on strategic plan

Dakota State University in Madison is in the process of developing its strategic plan for the next several years for the university.  DSU’s Dean of The Beacom College of Computer and Cyber Sciences Dr. Richard Hanson spoke about the plan at the Madison Rotary meeting this week.  Hanson said that the plan, called DSU 2025, takes many areas into account, including the partnership that the university has with the community.

Hanson said that strategic planning is a critical, but difficult process because of the speed of change, the variables involved, and finances.  He said that growing the university has an impact on the community and that’s why it’s important to have the community involved in the planning process.

Hanson said that the university has a survey created for stakeholders in order to help them through their strategic planning process.  He said the survey covers areas like athletics, growth, and finances, and the university wants input from the community. A link to the survey can be found here.Â
