DSU hosting Global Game Jam this weekend

The annual Global Game Jam is taking place this weekend on the campus of Dakota State University in Madison.  The 11th annual event will take place in the Beacom Institute of Technology starting on Friday and running through Sunday.

Participants in the Global Game Jam create complete games based on a yearly theme.  DSU has been a host site since the first event in 2009. Last year, the DSU site for Global Game Jam contributed seven games to the more than nine-thousand created during the 48-hour event.

The event is open to all DSU students and alumni, as well as to the public for anyone age 18 and older. All experience and skill levels are welcome. Attendees without game design experience can contribute their own skills, like developing a narrative, creating artwork, coding and more to the development of video, board, and card games.

All of the games created over the weekend will be available for downloads and play during the week after the Global Game Jam.
